Links
I've amassed quite a lot of useful links in my time. But most of them aren't on this page, because there's a lot to sort through, and I'm trying to organise them in a logical manner…
Programming
Blogs
- Sorting It All Out (Michael Kaplan) - Windows localisation, globalisation, and internationalisation.
- ScapeCode.com (Washu) - .NET JIT
Learning Hungarian
- Magyaróra
- Tools for teachers and learners of Hungarian, with worksheets, audio for a range of difficulty levels. Worth looking at!
- Quizlet
- Can be useful for learning vocabulary.
- Wikipedia
- There's quite a large amount of useful Hungarian gramamar information on Wikipedia.
- Wikibooks
- Unfortunately, this wikibook is very incomplete at the moment, with only four lessons. Perhaps you can contribute?
- Aaron Rubin's course, a 9-part course on the Hungarian language.
- I found this useful. It also contains some more links.
- Hunglish corpus search
- This has to be one of the most useful tools I've ever used. It makes it a lot easier to understand idioms and slang.
Dictionaries
- Sztaki
- A very large dictionary with extension dictionary. Nagyon hasznos.
- FreeDict
- Free (as in libre) dictionaries for quite a few languages in a variety of formats - useful data sources, but you'll need to find a program which can read them.
- FreeLang
- Free (as in beer) dictionaries along with a program to use them.
Free stuff
- Thawte give out free personal email certificates (though in order to get your actual real name on the certificate, you'll need to go through Thawte's Web of Trust).
